Yamit is an M.Sc. student studying the taxonomy and ecology of echinoids (sea urchins) in the Gulf of Aqaba (GoA). Yamit’s research focuses on describing the echinoid fauna of the GoA, generating a key for species identification, identifying cryptic speciation and evaluating echinoids’ levels of endemism in the GoA. She will perform molecular and morphological methods by using specimens in the Steinhardt Museum of Natural History.
